The Homecraft WiFi touchpad puts your sauna on your phone. Start it from the car on the way home, set it to come on at 6 PM every Tuesday and Thursday, nudge the temperature from the couch, and check that it switched off. At the wall it works exactly like the Local touchpad, with a 60-minute timer and a temperature range of 77°F to 194°F; the app adds the remote start, the calendar scheduling and the peace of mind.
It mounts outside the sauna room and plugs into the TKE2-2 contactor box with a low-voltage cable. Does this include the contactor box?
Leisurecraft lists this item as the touchpad. Homecraft confirms that upgrading an existing TKE2-2 control to WiFi is a touchpad swap: the new pad goes onto the box and wiring you already have. If you are buying a new heater, choose the WiFi control on the heater page and the complete control, box and wiring included, ships with it. Not sure what you have? Can I swap my Local touchpad for this one?
Yes. It plugs into the same TKE2-2 or TKE3 contactor box over the same low-voltage cable, so the heater wiring stays as it is.
Does it need WiFi at the sauna?
It needs to reach your home WiFi network from where the touchpad is mounted. For an outdoor sauna at the far end of the yard, check the signal at the wall first; a mesh node or extender fixes a weak one.
Can I still use it at the wall if the internet is down?
Yes. The touchpad itself runs the heater; the app is a remote for it. Lose the connection and you still have the timer and temperature at the wall.
Can it be mounted inside the sauna?
No. Like the Local pad it is designed for the outside wall of the sauna room.
