Home Saunas

A home sauna is usually the most expensive thing someone puts in a basement, a garage, or a backyard. Before you get to price, three questions decide almost everything: where it goes, what it plugs into, and how it gets delivered.

Indoor or outdoor. Indoor saunas go in a spare room, a basement, or a large bathroom and need no weatherproofing. Outdoor saunas are built for weather — insulated walls, treated exteriors, real roofing. An indoor model does not survive outside.

Traditional or infrared. Traditional saunas heat rocks, run 160–200°F, and let you pour water for steam. Infrared saunas warm you directly at 120–140°F, draw less power, and many run on a standard household outlet. Traditional is the classic Finnish experience; infrared is gentler and easier to wire.

Size. One person, two to four, or five and up. Buy for the number of people who will actually use it at the same time, not the largest number you can imagine.

Shipping is free on everything on this page.

If you are stuck between two models, reply or call me. I would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you order the wrong sauna. — Tim, 917-334-6022
